"My Children"

I am blessed to have a daughter, Amanda (15), a stepdaughter, Jennifer (29), and a stepson, Michael (25.)

Amanda is a busy teenager doing her best to keep her mother on her toes. She has a busy summer taking Driver's Ed at the local high school. We will do a lot of bonding, since we have to put in 20 hours of drive time, before this class is done in the middle of July. I don't know who is more nervous her or me.

Jennifer is a nurse anesthetist at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in downtown Chicago. She loves living in Chicago and is planning on marrying her sweetheart Kenny on August 9, 2008.

Michael graduated from the University of Iowa last spring with his Doctor of Pharmacy. He decided to work for Walgreen's in Wilmington, North Carolina. He loves being only minutes away from the beach.

Fifteen months ago, we adopted a lab/pointer mix, black, female puppy - Abby. She has added life to our family. She loves everyone with all the enthusiasm she can muster. She is definitely a lover, not a fighter. Every time we start the grill, Abby comes running from the garage to see if there is anything for her. She even has Bill do her grocery shopping for her. Definitely a spoiled dog, but we love her.

My Guy

Bill and I have been married for six years. We were setup on a blind date nine years ago and it has been just him and me since then.

He runs his own pharmacy, Oakland Pharmacy, which consumes a lot of his time.

When he does have spare time, he loves sports (Go Hawkeyes!) and grilling. He is always looking for new recipes to try out on his Green Egg smoker.

I have been blessed to have such a wonderful friend and husband.

Robinson Ranch

Three years ago, my husband and I built a home outside of Oakland, Iowa. It has become my safe haven. I spend a lot of time in the summer working on creating and maintaining flower beds around our 2-acre home. At any time of the year, it is a joy to sit outside and enjoy the nature around us.

We have pretty quiet neighbors on the north, west (fields), and east sides of us. The herd of Angus to the north of us (sometimes) come close to our property in the mornings and late evenings to say hello.

Our noisy neighbors are on Wednesdays' and Thursdays' evenings. This is when it is Ladies and Guys Night on the golf course. Let just say we do have a fine collection of golf balls we have collected the 2 1/2 years we have lived here.
